WHEREAS

WHEREAS, the Parish Council has a responsibility to support the pastoral mission of the parish while safeguarding parish governance, resources, and reputation; and

WHEREAS, hunger, food insecurity, and community dependency on centralized systems are increasing within local communities; and

WHEREAS, Catholic Social Doctrine teaches that responsibility and care should remain as local as possible, consistent with the principle of Subsidiarity, while respecting human dignity and participation; and

WHEREAS, ShareNetwork, a project of Your Catholic Voice Foundation, has been presented as an infrastructure-based initiative that provides standards, tools, and transparency to support locally governed parish and community efforts; and

WHEREAS, ShareNetwork does not operate centralized programs, distribute food or money, take a percentage of donations, or assume control over parish operations; and

WHEREAS, parish participation in ShareNetwork is voluntary, locally governed, and may be structured as a pilot or limited engagement at the discretion of parish leadership;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED

BE IT RESOLVED that the Parish Council of _______________________________ Parish authorizes the parish to:

☐ Explore participation in ShareNetwork through further review and briefing; OR
☐ Participate in a ShareNetwork pilot period under terms determined by parish leadership; OR
☐ Host or partner with a ShareNetwork Share Node, subject to pastoral approval and ongoing parish oversight.

GOVERNANCE & SAFEGUARDS

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that:

1. Parish leadership retains full authority over parish facilities, volunteers, scheduling, and participation. 
2. No parish funds shall be transferred to or managed by ShareNetwork. 
3. Participation may be modified or discontinued at the discretion of the pastor. 
4. All participation shall remain consistent with diocesan policies and Catholic teaching. 
5. This resolution authorizes engagement only within the scope described and does not constitute permanent obligation.
